The II Rio International Workshop in Advances in Competition Policy Analysis is organized by the Competition and Regulation European Summer School and Conference (CRESSE) and the Research Group in Law, Economics and Competition of the Institute of Economics – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (GDEC/IE/UFRJ). The goal of the workshop is to bring together academics, policy makers and other practitioners specializing in the area of competition economics and policy to discuss the recent advances in the area.

The event seeks to create an environment for the exchange of experiences,techniques and practices between international researchers, national and international experts, government officials and those interested in Competition Policy. The event places itself in a unique position in the country, as it creates a unique opportunity for a technically advanced and rigorous discussion, with the participation of international and national researchers and public agents. At the same time, organizing a presentation of scientific technical papers in competition policy, promoting the creation of a critical mass of competition thinkers and specialists in Brazil, in the interaction of economists, lawyers and technical. Given the success in participation and impressions of the participants, we are promoting a second edition of the event.
