First Workshop on nowcasting and Aeronautic Meteorology

The First Workshop DECEA-UFRJ on Nowcasting and Aeronautical Meteorology aims to bring together the scientific and operational communities that work in the area of short-term weather forecasting. The event will be important for the presentation of innovations and to consolidate new partnerships. Advances in the area of nowcasting are fundamental, mainly for the aeronautical, port, highway and civil defense sectors, among others, in which the phenomena of rapid formation and development are frequently observed, with potential impact for these activities. This interdisciplinary event will count on the participation of several national and international researchers, who will have the opportunity to submit their research papers to be presented in seminars or posters. At the end of the event, works will be selected for submission to a special edition of Pure and Applied Geophysics journal. One of the main objectives of the event is to create a common research front in the direction of developing nowcasting forecasting methods in Brazil.
